Summer Adventure – Between Soft Moss and Rugged Peaks: The Routes in the Glemm Valley
The landscape here is unique. On one side, the gentle, deep green Pinzgauer Grasberge (Grass Mountains); on the other side, the wide view of the glaciated giants of the Hohe Tauern and the chalk-white walls of the Steinberge. If you are looking for a challenge, the Saalbach Hiking Challenge awaits you: three long-distance hiking trails, 64 kilometres and an impressive 3,800 metres of altitude gain.
Perhaps you will be drawn to the legendary Pinzgauer Spaziergang – which is anything but a stroll (“Spaziergang”), but rather a 28-kilometre-long test of endurance along the ridge from Saalbach all the way to Zell am See. Or you might venture onto the Seven Summits: a nine-hour march across seven striking two-thousand-metre peaks, completely without any mountain huts for refreshments, but with pure adrenaline instead. Those who like it wild and untouched can pack their rucksack for the Home of Lässig Walk in the quiet head of the valley. Here, we share the peaks only with the marmots, chamois and the resident pair of golden eagles.
